Bio

Jera Cravo is a Brazilian musician, sound engineer, music producer, video maker and photographer.

Having begun his artistic activities in 1994, he drummed for several alternative rock bands within the Brazilian independent rock scene, opening for acts such as Sepultura and Racionais MC’s.

With a desire to dive into the technical aspects of music, Jera relocated to Los Angeles in 2000 where he enrolled at the prestigious Musicians Institute as a music engineering undergraduate. The new endeavour had him work with legends such as Virgil Donatti, T.J. Helmrich (Tribal Tech), Planet X and Dennis Chambers, besides metal act Diesel Machine, which featured future Damageplan frontman Pat Lachman and some alternative and hardcore projects.

Back in Salvador in 2001, focusing mainly on independent rock artists, Jera recorded, produced, mixed and/or mastered, until 2011, over 100 projects, many of which were critically acclaimed by Brazilian and worldwide specialized media. Such artists included Headhunter D.C., Malefactor, Yun-Fat, Escarnium, Cobalto, Automata, Madame Saatan, Drearylands, Veuliah and Plane of Mine, to name a few.

Jera also designed and started three different recording studios during the 10 years he stayed back in Brazil.

In 2011 before relocating to Canada, Jera was part of a week-long mixing master class in France by stellar mixing engineer Andy Wallace (Jeff Buckley, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana) which was an immense contribution to this process.

Since relocated to Montreal, Jera recorded, mixed and mastered numerous AAA video games soundtracks and trailers (Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham Origins, League Of Legends, Resident Evil, Tearaway, Little Big Planet, For Honor, Arkham Knights, among others) and worked with many independent artists from around the world, such as Iggor Cavalera (ex-Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy), Briga (Juno Nominee), Hubert Proulx, Labess (France), Lavanya Narasiah, The Lef7overs, Lux Drumette (USA), amongst others.
